Doesn't she look familiar. You may remember Carmela Conroy, former US consul general in Lahore as the lady who made the case for the infamous Raymond Davis' freedom. He may have had the proverbial license to kill but in her time here, Carmela definitely
had a license to thrill; well that is definitely one way to win hearts
and minds. Always fashion forward, she was seen in the front row at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in Lahore and now, after her departure from Pakistan. she turns up in a shoot for jeweler Shafaq Habib
who tells Instep Style about how she landed the prolific but rather
unlikely model. Her Excellency came into the store and showed a lot of
interest in the turquoise earrings and the calligraphy pieces. She
picked up several and while talking i asked if she would be mt model. To
my surprise she agreed and we had a photo session arranged with Khawar
Riaz. Carmela has no inhibitions about these pictures being published,
so i said i always pay my models and her response was that if that was
the case, then she would like to donate the amount to the SOS Children's
